Heat-Resistant Gripper Components

The ASS Robot-Hand-Kit (EOAT) introduces several heat-resitant gripper components. The new components allow a much better handling of tempered materials such as FRP organic sheets, for example in an infrared oven. New to the ASS Robot-Hand-Kit (EOAT) are the heat-resistant gripper GRZ 10-12, heat-resistant suction Cups VS HT+ and PEEK inserts for vacuum suction cups VSE.

Heat-Resistant Gripper GRZ 10-12

Heat-Resistant Gripper ComponentsASS will present a special highlight at the K Show: a heat-resistant Gripper of the 10-12 series: GRZ 10-12 HT. This new special gripper is heat-resistant during long-term exposure to air temperature up to 150 degrees Celsius. This gripper offers reliable gripping and holding in a long-term operation under heat in the infrared oven used for thermically-formed materials, e.g. FRP organic sheeting. As a standard feature, the GRZ 10-12 HT has serrated jaws and a closing force of 28 Newtons. Adapted to individual customer requirements, the heat-resistant gripper can also be equipped with different jaw geometries.

Heat-Resistant Vacuum Suction Cups

The heat-resistant vacuum cups from the series VS HT+ are also available for the use of tempered materials. Due to a special material mix, the suction cups withstand a long-term use of -20 to +300 degrees Celsius. On top of that, the cups are especially resistant to chemicals, chlorous solvents, lubricants, and aromatic/aliphatic carbon hydrates. In addition, the VS HT series is non-marking. The suction cups are available in several versions.

PEEK Inserts for Vacuum Suction Cups

For dent-free suction of warm plastic components or tempered FRP organic sheets, we offer temperature-resistant, thermoplastic polyetheretherketone (PEEK) inserts for vacuum cups VSE in different sizes. VSE can be used optimally in combination with suction cups made of high-temperature elastomer (HE suction cups).

More new gripper components will be shown at K Show 2016:

When handling of non-rigid parts, such as textiles, thermoplastic carbon fiber composites or other tissues and light elements needle grippers are required for handling. Especially in automotive lightweight construction needle grippers are important for handling fiber composites. Therefor we have enlarged our gripper components for FRP handling.

The main focus is on gripper parts that can be implemented in the injection moulding industry in many ways and can especially be used to handle flexible materials and fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP). The new gripper parts fit perfectly in the robot end-of-arm tooling erector kit (EOAT) and can be combined with existing components.
